More than 100 SOFO sensors were imbedded inside the columns that form the “skeleton” of the whole construction. To know the evolution and magnitude of the tensions inside the columns is very important because the resulting data are given information.

Aim of monitoring:

Scope of the monitoring is to know the real evolution of the tensions and strains on the columns during the several phases of the construction of the building and to know the behavior over the long period from the time the building is completed and fully in service. The SOFO sensors integrated were specially conceived also to perform dynamic measurements since the area where the building is going to be built is at high seismic hazard.

Main results:

Active length of the SOFO sensors is 30 cm and the sensors were installed in the most critical parts so that to have a representative picture of the condition of all members that build the structure.
