Seven tower blocks are connected at 27th and 50th level by link bridges. Each bridge comprises 2 Warren and 2 Vierendeel trusses which are supported by the four ends columns in each block. The trusses are curved in plan resulting in torsional stresses which wil be stiffened by transverse members. The trusses are encased with reinforeced concrete and were lifted up to the 50th and 27th levels by hydraulic jacks. The trusses are permanently fixed to the columns by brackets and lifting cables with permanent anchorage encased in concrete.

Aim of monitoring:

Monitoring aim imposes determination of four critical parameters: (1) efforts in most loaded beams, (2) relative displacement of the bridge in the middle of the span, (3) opening of gaps between the bridges and the buildings and (4) avarage strain in concrete bearing supports.
