The structure being monitored is a section of the Ferrera-Bertonico oil pipeline with a length of approximately 6km, located in the Padana flat (north of Italy). The sensing cable was integrated around 10cm below the pipe and it lies on a sand bed. The DiTemp monitoring system has a max range of 4km with 2 Ch, and consequently, it was located in the middle of the 6km section.
Aim of monitoring:
Install a leakage detection system capable of monitoring the temperature profile along a section of the oil pipeline.
